Layla Abdul-Haqq holds a Bachelor’s degree in African American Studies from UC Berkeley. Her academic focus on Black Geographies and environmental changes experienced by Black and Brown youth, combined with her lived experience of poverty and housing instability, are the sources of her profound passion for improving conditions for women and gender-expansive people.
Before joining ReImagine Freedom, Layla built a successful career in administration and operations across several positions. In a previous role, she innovated hiring processes and supply management systems, enhancing the operational efficiency of the company’s multiple locations and leading to a swift promotion.
As the Senior Executive Assistant at ReImagine Freedom, Layla leverages her extensive background to ensure administrative excellence and an environment that cultivates imagination and the realization of a more inclusive and equitable future. She oversees staff systems experience, high-level project management, and strategy development to support stability and sustainability during the rapid expansion of the organization.
